Moore, 85, died Thursday morning at her home, 436 East Washington street, following months of illness. She was a native of Virginia but later lived in Indiana, coming from there to Michigan. She had been a resident of Ionia for 59 years. Her husband, John G. Moore, was for years Ionia’s leading gardener and by the side of her husband, Mrs. Moore worked to keep the garden free from weeds and the plants growing and prepare the products for market. She was busy little woman in her home and with the garden and found but little time for outside interests, although she often pointed with pride to the changes that created a thriving city out of a forest and lowland. Her aged husband; three children, Mrs. William Mandiville, of Detroit; William J. of Ionia, and Mrs. Elmer E. Finch, of Saranac; three grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. W. Strang and Mrs. Frank Hall, of Topeka, Ind., and a brother, Riley Trittieo, of Lingonier, Ind., survive. Funeral services will be conducted at the home Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock by Dr. Willard K. Spencer. Burial will be in Highland Park cemetery. Sarah E.
