March 2, 1944 FIND BODY OF 3-YEAR OLD IN MUDDY CREEK Second Fatality In Family During Past Year The boy of Robert Norman Moore, 3 1/2-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Sprague Moore, Easton township, who drowned in Bellamy creek at 4:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon was found early Sunday when search for it, called off Saturday because of darkness was resumed. and fell into the rushing creek. The body had disappeared in the time four play The body was discovered by Deputy Loyal Hodson over a mile downstream and several hundred yards north of M-21. It was caught on a tree stump in the creek. It was taken to the Myers funeral home, Ionia, where arrangements were made for funeral Tuesday at 2 p.m. Services were held in the funeral establishment with burial in the Easton cemetery. The child drowned when it was playing around a cement bridge abutment near its home two miles west of town and fell into the rushing creek. The body had disappeared in the time four playmates, including several brothers, rushed to inform the mother, Mrs. Beulah Moore. This is the second fatality in the family during the past year. A brother, Everett, 11 years-old, was strangled to death in December 1942. There are six other children in the family, four boys and two girls ranging in age from one to fourteen.
