He had been ill from a stroke since 1962. Born in Ionia, December 5, 1892, he was a son of the late John and Clara Dunn Moore, and formerly operated Moore’s Dairy farm on North Jefferson road. He went to work for the State of Michigan as an inspector in 1935, while living in the Ionia area for some 50 years, then retired in 1957 only to work part time for the federal government as a dairy product sampler-tester. In recent years he made his home at 8065 East Fulton, in Ada, where he was a member of the Congregational church. Survivors include his wife, the former Lucy Lovell; four daughters, Mrs. Ambrose Stoddard, Mrs. Royce Waters, and Mrs. Thomas Westbrook, al of Ionia; Mrs. John Case of Fennville, and a step-daughter, Mrs. John Ellis of Grand Rapids, 15 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The body is at O’Brien-Gerst funeral chapel at 3980 West Cascade road and I-96 Expressway where services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Dale Charters and Rev. Jack Richards of the Congregational church officiating. Friends and relatives may visit the chapel Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be in Coral cemetery.
