Moore, 88, of Orange Street, Greenville, died Friday evening, Oct. 25, 2002, at United Memorial Health Center, Greenville. She was born near Greenville on Dec. 29, 1913, the daughter of Alvin E. and Iva Palmer Sharpe. Genevieve was a 1932 graduate of Greenville High School and a beautician in Greenville for many years, working at the former Polly’s Beauty Shop. She was a member of Greenville First United Methodist Church, the circle of the church, Hypatia club and the Craft and Culture Club. She was loved by her family and adored by her grandchildren. She married J.B. Moore on Aug. 5, 1939, in Greenville. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1995. She also was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne Thorlund, on Sept. 25, 1992; her grandson, Eric Thorlund, on April 12, 1985; her sister, Maxine E. Chittick, on Dec. 9, 1999; her brothers, Earl P. “Bud” Sharpe, on Feb. 15, 1986, and Howard J. Sharpe, on Aug. 4, 1993. She is survived by her daughter and sons-in-law, Linda and Richard Pilkinton of Sidney and Einer Thorlund of Greenville; her grandchildren, Einer III and Denise Thorlund, Jeff and Angela Thorlund, Jennifer Thorlund, Andrew and Cindy Thorlund, Rosa Pilkinton, Don and Kristy Pilkinton, all of Greenville, Jacob and Rachael Pilkinton of Caledonia, Richard Pilkinton III of Port Huron; her great-grandchildren, Eric, Blake, Megan, Derek, David, Caden, Emily, Logan, Linsie, Drew, Alexis, Amanda and Elin; her sisters-in-law, Christine Sharpe, Marjorie Sharpe, both of Greenville; her brother-in-law, Claude Chittick of Spring Lake; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services are 1 p.m. today at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville, with her pastor, the Rev. Dr. Harry R. Johnson, officiating. Burial is in Rest Haven Memory Gardens, Belding. Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home where memorials may be left for First United Methodist Church, Flat River Community Library, American Cancer Society or Hospice.
