Mrs. Etta A. Moore, 78, of 122 E. Ellis Avenue passed away at St. Mary’s 
hospital in Grand Rapids, November 24.  She fractured her hip over three months 
ago and had been in the hospital since that time.

As Etta Courter, she was born February 17, 1876 in Pine River township, Gratiot 
county.  She came to this city 55 years ago to work in the silk mills and was 
married to Arthur R. Moore at Alma, July 3, 1899.  He passed away August 3, 
1953.

Mrs. Moore was a Past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge, a member of the Maccabees 
and the Rebekah Thimble Club.  

She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Lottie Smith of this city and Mrs. MirA Pickard 
of Plainfield, Conn.; two sisters, Mrs. Effie Cartridge of this city and Mrs. 
Myra Garnett of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 o’clock at Huffman Funeral Home with 
Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating assisted by Victoria Rebekah lodge No. 60.  Burial 
was in Green cemetery.  Pall bearers were George Connor, Earle Richardson, 
Orley Hammond, Carl Taylor, George Farthing and Foster Gill.
