Her death came Sunday at the home of a son, Solon Moore, in Detroit, following the breaking of her left arm late in January. He condition was grave from the first due to her age and the seriousness of the fracture. Mrs. Louise Northrup Moore was born in Detroit, Oct. 23, 1851. She became the bride of Amzi Moore a native of Canton, Wayne county, in 1869. The family moved here from Plymouth over fifty-five years ago and up to within a short time of his death in 1894, Mr. Moore followed the carpenter’s trade. Mrs. Moore has been a remarkable woman, the mother of fourteen children. Her health has been poorly for the past few years and the sudden death of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Beach, last November, was great blow to her as the two had lived together in the home on Alderman street for many years. She had been with her children in Detroit only a few weeks when the accident occurred. Funeral services were held from the Fales funeral home on Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 19. Rev. F. Don Crabb, pastor of the church of Christ, of which the deceased was a most faithful member, officiated. The remains were placed in the mausoleum until spring when they will be interred in the family lot at River Ridge. Three sons and 5 daughters survive. They are Ernest and Lee of this city and Solon of Detroit; Mrs. Effie Leonard, Pontiac; Mrs. Catherine Durfee, Detroit, Mrs. Gertrude Thomas of Cadillac; Mrs. Abbie Tischon of Grand Rapids, and Mrs. Vesta Bussell of this city, also seven grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.
