Moore was born in New Franklin, Stark Co., Ohio, March 6, 1861, and died at his home in this village, October 27, 1905, after a short illness of six days. At the age of 18 Mr. Moore came to Michigan and lived most of the time in Ionia and Montcalm counties. Four years ago he moved his family here and he has been identified with the business interest of the village since. August 22, 1888 he was married to Miss Della Talcott, of Palo, who with three daughters survives him. These daughters are Ivah, aged 14, Lilah, 12, and Nevine, 6. At the home at 12 o’clock Sunday Rev. George Bullen offered prayer and Mrs. Edna McMullen sang “Abide With Me,” Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Palo, and burial was made in the cemetery there. The sermon by Rev. Bullen, on the text, “To die is gain,” and the music by the Palo choir, were very comforting. The floral pieces were profuse and beautiful, expressing the deep sympathy of relatives, fraternity brothers and friends. Mr. Moore was a member of the M.E. church, of the K.O.T.M.M. and the Modern Brotherhood of America. He was an upright and honorable citizen, an affectionate and indulgent husband and father, and a firm friend. The family desire to express their deep appreciation of all the kindness shown them during their affliction. Those from out of town who were here to attend the funeral were T.J. and C.P. Moore from Ohio, brothers of decedent, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Willard, Bushnell; H. J. Maurer of Hubbardston, Martin Kickland of Crystal, Mr. and Mrs. M. M.
