Moore, 69, was born the son of John and Elsie (Chadwick) Moore at the Moore home at Chadwick, Orleans township June 1, 1888, and died after a short illness at his home near Belding on Hawley highway Thursday, January 2. He had lived all of his life in the vicinity of Belding. He had been employed for 40 years by the post office department and was a former assistant postmaster at the time of his retirement. He was a member of the Methodist church of Belding. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Edna (Nummer Mercer) Moore; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Meggison of Mendon, and Mrs. Earl Doty of Orleans, and four grandchildren, Harold and Ruth Meggison and Cathy and Tom Doty. Funeral was held from the Belding Central Methodist church Saturday, January 3, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. M. L. Brokaw officiating. Interment was in River Ridge cemetery. Bearers were Don Waldron, Charles Hollenbeck, Elwyn Williams, Sylvester Dehn, David Cameron, and Bert McNaughton.
