She was born June 28, 1929, in Lansing, MI, the daughter of Luke and Ruth (Peterson) Kelly. She married John I. Moore on Aug. 18, 1951 who proceeded her in death in March 2009 after nearly 57 years of marriage. She is survived by daughters, Kristine (David) Hassan, Greenville, Karen (Michael) Barker, Ravenna, Kimberly (Jerry) Smith, Antigo, WI, and son, John Kelly (Katie) Moore, Houston, TX; grandchildren, Kate (Luke) Hertzfeld, Swanton, OH, Karla (Andrew) Goetz, Royal Oak, MI, Jessica Moore, Portland, OR, Kaelyn Kelly (KK) Moore, Houston, TX; great grandchildren, Peter and Henry Hertzfeld, and Julia, Maggie and Samuel Goetz; sister, Roberta First Delamater; sister-in-law, Leora Stutes; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sister, Rhoda Reini; brother-in-laws, John First, Gordon Delamarter and Eino Reini. She was also preceded in death by her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary (Moore) and Verne Stretch, Kathleen (Moore) and Sterrey Stout and Marion Stutes. Pat graduated from Okemos High School as Salutatorian in 1947 and from Michigan State University in 1951 where she earned her Master’s Degree in 1960. She belonged to The United Methodist Church, most recently in Ionia and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Sigma Chapter. She was employed at Ionia High School where she taught Home Economics for 30 years. In 1972 she was named Director of Career Education and created the Building Trades Program, which allowed students to attend school half days and learn a trade the remaining half day. She also made costumes for the high school plays for many years. Pat enjoyed traveling and lived in Germany for a year when John was in the Army. They visited Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, many European countries and enjoyed several cruises. She traveled to Thailand with Leora Stutes. Pat was a talented cook, seamstress, quilter, basket weaver, porcelain doll maker and stained glass crafter. Family and friends have been the recipients of her handmade treasures. She belonged to quilters groups and helped make quits for veterans. The family wishes to thank the staff at Green Acres and Spectrum Health Hospice for their loving care and support. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at 12:30 p.m. at Greenville First United Methodist Church, 204 W.
