Moorhead, 57, died at his home at 5027 Fourth street, Detroit, Saturday evening after a lingering illness. He had been in a Detroit hospital for about three weeks. He died six weeks after his release from the hospital, bed-ridden all of that time. He was born August 30, 1890, in Allen county, Ohio, and came to Ionia in 1916, where he was employed on the farm of Wm. Sage. He married one of Sage’s daughters, Leta. While living in Ionia he was employed by the Hayes plant, the Reed, the Ionia County Road Commission, and just before he moved to Detroit in 1943, he worked for Glenn Pierce & Sons. In Detroit he was employed by the Kaiser-Frazer plant at Willow Run. Surviving him is his wife, Leta; his sons, William, John and Francis, of Detroit; his daughters, Mrs. Irma Leslie, Mrs. Maxine Leach and Velma and Esther Moorhead, all of Detroit; one brother, Clyde, of Ionia, and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Brettinger of Greenville, Mrs. Irene Spencer of Stanton and Mrs. Maggie Appleman of Ohio. Funeral services will be held from Bradley’s funeral home Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock with the Rev. Eldon Burkett officiating. Interment will be in Highland Park cemetery.
