Ionia Standard - Fri. May 8, 1885


PEWAMO – Died-In East Plains, Saturday, April 25, Alexander Morrice, age 76 
years. Mr. Morrice, while not enjoying good health for the past five years, was 
still able to be around the house. On the moring of his death nothing unusual 
was noticed, but as he sat down to the breakfast table, he fell forward and 
soon expired. Mr. Morrice was one of the early pioneers of this county, having 
come hear in 1888. He was an honest, upright man and always respected by all 
who knew him. The funeral services took place at the residence of the deceased 
on Tuesday and were attended by a large concourse of friends.-Plaindealer.
