Morgan, who passed away at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Arba Face, 719 W. May St. Monday morning about 10 o’clock, following a short illness caused by influenza. Mr. Morgan’s passing came only six weeks after that of Mrs. Morgan, with whom he had observed their 65th wedding anniversary on Sept. 17th, last year. Mr. Morgan was born in Orleans township on April 28, 1860, and spent the greater part of his life in this vicinity, having been for many years a resident of this city, where he was employed in factories until a few years ago. He was 84 years and nine months old. On September 17th, 1879, he was married to Sarah Jane Barkdull, with four children having been born to the union, all of whom have preceded their parents into the Great Beyond. Surviving are the granddaughter, Mrs. Face; a nephew, Jimmie Barkdull; four other grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, and a brother, Judson Morgan, of Edmore. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Fales Huffman funeral home, with Rev. H. S. Ellis officiating and burial was by the side of the body of Mrs. Morgan in the cemetery at Lake Odessa.
