Homer Morgan 83, passed away at his home here Saturday morning after an illness of several weeks. He was born near Akron, Ohio, and came to Michigan with his parents when a young boy. Mr. Morgan led a very active life having at one time been engaged in farming, the lumber business in Isabella county, and for 20 years was a boss carpenter for the Pere Marquette railroad. For about 15 years he was a nightwatchman at the Lake Odessa Canning company plant, retiring a short time ago because of failing health. His quiet, retiring disposition made him many friends. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his wife, Effie, in 1934, his son Merlin G. and his daughter Mrs. May Link. Surviving are the daughter in law, Mrs. Morgan in Lake Odessa, the son in law Frank Link at Detroit, and several nieces and nephews. For a number of years Mrs. Jennie Deja was a faithful homemaker for Mr. Morgan and cared for him during his last illness. Funeral services were held at the Pickens chapel Monday afternoon with the Rev. Victor W. Thrall officiating. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery.
