The husband and son have been faithful caretakers of the deceased whose cheerfulness kept the sorrow of her going as far away as possible the last few months. OBITUARY Effie Jan Pember, daughter of Morris and Charity Jeanette Pember, was born February 19, 1869, in Vermontville township, Eaton county, and passed away at her home March 24, 1934, at the age of 65 years, one month and five days. She was united in marriage with Homer Morgan on July 4, 1888, and to this union were born two children, Mae, who passed away July 27, 1931, and Merlin residing in Lake Odessa. Besides the husband and son are two surviving brothers, Bert of Vermontville and Frank of Detroit. In March 1904, the family took up residence in Lake Odessa and with the exception of a few years in Greenville, and later on a farm near Vermontville, her life from that time was spent here. She was always an enthusiastic and willing worker for any worthy cause but her chief delight was in her home and flowers. Although ill for over a year preceding her death, and a great sufferer, her cheerfulness, courage and ambition were maintained to the last. She leaves a place in her home, the hearts of her husband and son and many friends, which will be difficult to fill.
