Ionia Sentinel - Saturday, May 14, 1870

Fritz is dead. Everyone knew jolly, good natured, "Old Fritz" Morganthaler, who 
loved his toddy unwisely and unwell. On Thursday afternoon, while in Schild's 
saloon, a sudden attack of heart disease carried him off, and he is no more. 
Requiescat in pace.
