Morgridge, 79, of 259 Bristie, Portland, died Dec. 28 at Ionia Manor. Born Jan. 7, 1910, in Grand Ledge, he was the son of Erva and Mary Kenman Morgridge. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of First United Methodist Church, and of the Methodist Men’s club. Surviving are his wife, Beatrice; a son, Wayne, of Ionia; three daughters, Kathleen Hammel of Bay City, Collen Kesier of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Jean Hummel of Ionia; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; a brother, Donald, of Lansing; and two sisters, Katherine Means and Helen Buzas, both of Grand Ledge. Funeral services will be Sunday at 3 p.m. from Neller Funeral Home, Portland, with the Rev. Harold Homer officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Grand Ledge. Pallbearers will be Mark Morgridge, Richard Hotchkiss, Paul Fate, William Deschaine, Robert Higbee and Ronald Dankenbring. The family will be at the funeral home Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials have been established for Portland United Methodist Church and Ionia Area Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
