The Portland Observer, Thursday, July 11, 1929

Mrs. James Moriarty, aged 58 years old, passed away at her home Sunday 
morning.  Funeral services were held at St. Patrick church, in charge of Rev. 
Fr. William O’Rourke Wednesday forenoon.

Although Mrs. Moriarty had been in poor health for some time her death was 
unexpected and came as a great shock to her many friends.  She had spent her 
entire lifetime in this vicinity, having been born on what is now the John A. 
McClelland farm.  She was the youngest daughter of the late Henry Conklin.  
Thirty-five years ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Moriarty, who, with 
two children, Ralph and Gerald, survive.  A sister, Mrs. John Smith, of 
Webberville, also survives.
