Mrs. Helen L. Moriarty, 59, of Lookingglass road, Portland died Friday at St. 
Lawrence hospital in Lansing following an extended illness.  Born in 
Hubbardston, September 23, 1912, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard 
Couzzins.  She had been a resident of Portland area 40 years and member of St. 
Patrick Catholic church.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald; two sons, James of Muir and Michael of 
Lansing; seven daughters, Joan Moriarty of San Francisco, California, Mrs. 
Lois Lowe of Portland, Mrs. Sharon Mason of Lansing, Mrs. Kathleen Gregg of 
Grand Ledge, Mrs. Carol Smith of Lansing, Martha Moriarty and Monica Moriarty 
of Portland; ten grandchildren; two brothers, Porter Couzzins of Muir; sister, 
Martha Couzzins of Denver, Colorado.

Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic church in 
Portland.  Rev. Fr. Joseph Malewitz will officiate and interment will be at 
Portland cemetery.  Rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. at Neller funeral 
home in Portland.
