Mary Edith Morrice, age 96, of Lake Odessa, was called Home by God on Tuesday,
December 13, 2005, and has been reunited with her beloved husband, Charles
Morrice, and daughter, Joann Morrice. 

Mary was born on October 26, 1909 in Weidman, MI to Allard and Anna (Evilsizer)
Grove.  She attended Alma schools, and then returned to Lakewood High School in
her 70’s to earn her high school diploma.

Mary was proud to have been an Avon Lady for 32 years and had many friends and
customers throughout Michigan.  Mary was a long-time member of the Central
United Methodist Church in Lake Odessa; was active in the Lake Odessa Historical
Society; and with her husband, Charlie, had owned the boat livery and bait shop
on Jordan Lake for over 50 years. 

For the past several years, Mary has resided with her niece, Doris Moon, in
Sumner, and then at Metron of Greenville.

Mary is survived by her nieces and nephews, Doris Moon, Dale and Judy Bowen, and
Milton and Dorothy Bowen; and many great nieces and nephews; and great great
nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pearl Bowen;
and nephew, William Bowen.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 17, 2005, with her faithful
friend, Dr. Victor De Jonge officiating.  Burial was in Lakeside Cemetery. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Central United Methodist Church of
Lake Odessa (912 Fourth Ave., Lake Odessa, MI 48849).  Arrangements were made by
Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa.
