The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Monday, October 1, 1962

Funeral service for John A. Morris, Sr., 63, of 126 High street was held 
Saturday at 2 p.m. He died Thursday morning at Ionia County Memorial 
hospital.  Officiating was the Rev. John Tennyson, pastor of First Baptist 
church and interment was at Balcom cemetery.

Bearers were Robert Adair, David Kraft, Charles Larsen, Jerry Sisson, Harry 
Tucker and John Visser.  Members of CCW class of First Baptist church attended 
in a group.

Attending from out of town were Mrs. Flora Morris, Daniel Morris, Mr. and Mrs. 
Harold Stone and Linda Murray of Stratford, Ont.; John A. Morris, Jr., and Mr. 
and Mrs. Robert Tyler of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. George MacDowell, Mr. and Mrs. 
Glen Shepard and Mrs. Edith Brunger of Grand ledge; Avery Miles, Mrs. Francis 
Figley and Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Van Vleck of Howard City; Mrs. Ira Mathewson 
and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Lutz of Pontiac, Mr. and Mrs. James Donovan, Mr. and 
Mrs. Herbert Kent, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Heether, Mrs. Kenneth Workman and Mrs. 
Clarice Thompson of Greenville; Mary McGraw of Detroit, John Lean and Mrs. 
Ruby Eikenroth of Lakeview; Velma Thorne, Elsie Thorne and Edna Thorne of 
Orleans; Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cranmer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Venturini 
and Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Cranmer of Belding; Mr. and Mrs. George Arnold of Muir, 
and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Denton of Saranac.
