Morris, sr. 81 of Jackson road, died Friday. He was born in Fenwick March 29, 1897, the son of Edward and Emily Ryan Morris. Mr. Morris moved to the Lake Odessa area in 1901 and married Irene Alderink of Clarksville December 24, 1919. A farmer most of his life, he served with the U.S. Army during World War I, joined the American Legion as a life member in 1921, served as commander of Post 112 Lakeside, was present and past commander of Barracks Lakeside 2161, a member of the Fuburnate Grange where he served as master, master of Ionia County Pomona Grange for four years and was a member of the Farm Bureau, American Association of Retired Persons, Ionia County Council on Aging, Ionia Senior Citizens and an official member of the Good Sam Recreational Vehicle club of Michigan and the USA. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Frederick and Kenneth of Lake Odessa and Glen E., jr. of Cascade; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Mildred Morris of Harrison; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two great-granddaughters. Services are Monday at 1:30 p.m. from the Pickens-Koops funeral chapel in Lake Odessa with burial in Lakeside cemetery.
