Ruth I. (Blasen) Morrison, 92, of Saranac passed away Monday, Feb. 11, 2002 in 
Woodhaven.

Mrs. Morrison was born Dec. 20, 1909 in Ionia County, to Henry Paul (Fred) 
Blasen and Myrtle M. (Decker) Blasen.  She was the identical twin sister to 
Esther Blasen.  She was raised in Ionia County and following her graduation 
from Ionia High School, attended business school.  For years she served as 
Clerk and Child Accountant to Elkwood Brake, Ionia County Superintendent of 
Schools.

In 1946, she married Morris C. Morrison and became an active farm wife.  She 
participated in the Grange, Gleaners, Saranac Community Church and the Ionia 
Historical Society.  She especially enjoyed her success in the cake baking 
contests at the Ionia County Free Fair.

Mrs. Morrison was preceded in death by her husband, Morris; and her identical 
twin, Esther Blasen.

She is survived by her older sister, Marguerite (Blasen) Cain; and two nieces, 
Joan (Cain) Hoelaars and Patricia (Cain) Schramm.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac.  The 
visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on that same day.  Mrs. Morrison will be 
interred at Saranac Cemetery.  Memorials may be sent to Saranac Community 
Church.
