He was born April 17, 1897, the son of Charles and Gertrude Morrison, at Big Rapids. He had been a resident of Ionia for many years and worked for the last seven years for Ionia County Road Commission. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lucille Wooters of Traverse City and Mrs. Cleobelle Cronk of Ionia; four sons, Earl and Paul of Ionia, Floyd of Saranac and John of Lyons; 21 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one half-brother, Edgar L. Morrison and one half-sister, Maple Hartman. Following the death of his first wife, Mary V. Underhill, he was married to Cloie M. Dukes who preceded him in death in September 1953. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Myers funeral home and burial will be at Balcom Cemetery. ------ Funeral services for Lewis Morrison of Route 3, who died suddenly Saturday morning, were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Myers funeral home with the Rev. Donald Mainprize officiating. Burial was at Balcom cemetery. Pallbearers, all fellow-employees of the County Road commission, were Clarence Dinehart, Winston Hartman, Sam Conner, Cecil Leonard, Ford Kelly and Gerald Dunigan. County Road Commission employees attended the funeral services in a group. Among those who attended from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wooters and family of Maple City, Mrs. Raymond Cousine Sr., of Traverse City, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Bessette of Lansing, Mrs. Ila Dukes of McBride, Earl Mackey of Grand Ledge, Mrs. Hazel Underhill of Benton Harbor and Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Green and family of Battle Creek.
