Daily Standard - Monday, May 6, 1901

James Morrison, a well-known pioneer of Muir, died on Sunday at the home of a 
daughter, aged 89. Physicians declared that his stomach had actually worn out 
in long service. For 12 weeks he slowly starved to death, the amount of 
nourishment be could assimilate growing less and less until he finally died.
