He had been in ill health for the past three years and especially during the past spring. Born May 6, 1880, the son of Myron and Elizabeth Morse, of Orleans, he has spent the greater part of his life in this county. August 4, 1904, he was married to Eleanor E. Hall. The couple first settled in Battle Creek, out of where Mr. Morse was employed as an engineer for the Grand Trunk railway. He was an engineer for six year and they lived in Battle Creek for 12 years. They also lived in Detroit for one year. They have lived at their present home for the past twenty years. He attended the Ionia Methodist church and was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen and Engineers. As a hobby, he spent much time inventing mechanical contrivances. Surviving are the widow, Eleanor, one sister, Mrs. Nora Taggart, of State street, one brother, Charles of Hackett street, and one niece, Marian Morse Robertson, of Dearborn. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon from the home in Ionia township at 2:30 o’clock. Rev. Frederick G. Dunbar will officiate and interment will be held at Orleans cemetery. Bearers will be Charles Morse, Louis Hall, Frank Hall and Stanley Roberts.
