Ionia County News - Thursday, June 2, 1928

              Mrs. Joseph D. Morse Suddenly Taken at Home of Her Son
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Portland for Mrs. Joseph Morse, 
70, who died Suddenly at the home of her son, Stanley Morse in the Christian 
Bend district as a result of an apoplectic stroke.

Mrs. Morse was born in Hannibal, N.Y. but came to this county 50 years ago. She 
became the bride of Mr. Morse four years later and had resided in the Christian 
Bend district since that time. It was but five weeks ago she went to live with 
the son at whose home she was stricken.

She is survived by four sons, Gilbert, of California; Nelson, Detroit; Robert, 
who lives on the old homestead and Stanley, who lives east of Buck's corners.

The funeral was from the home with Rev. J. H. Stewart officiating
