Jul 2015 Lester W. Morse, 96, of Belding, went to be with his Lord after a long and faith filled life at home under the loving care of his family and Spectrum Health Hospice. Lester was born on August 28, 1918 in Boyne City, the son of Forest and Lula McGhan Morse. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army. Lester was a long time farmer and horse trader in the Belding area. He loved going to auction sales and the Trufant Flea Market which he attended just the week before his death. He stayed active and truly lived until he died. He had a great love of family and friends all over Michigan. He was deeply devoted to his church and loved serving the Lord. He will be greatly missed. Lester was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Cecil, Howard, Glen, Eldon, and Robert; sisters Elsie, and Beatrice; his wife of 63 years Eleanor Elizabeth Dains whom he married on July 27, 1949 in Ludington; his daughter Darlene Krueger and her husband Jerry; son-in-law Paul Stinger; and granddaughter Tammie Morse. Lester is loved and survived by his children Eldon and Karen Morse of Nesbit, Mississippi, Marlene and Nick Zigterman of Lowell, Joyce Stinger of Spring Lake, Ivan and Betty Morse of Belding, and Eva West of LaPorte, Texas; several foster children; 28 grandchildren; 69 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sister Mildred and Lee Gregory of Tacoma, Washington; and sister-in-laws Mary Morse of Harbor Springs and Louise Morse of Montrose. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Ashley Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. David A. Oliver officiating. Committal prayers will follow in Otisco Township Cemetery with full military honors given by the joint honor guard of the Belding American Legion and VRW. Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to Spectrum Health Hospice or Ashley Baptist Church.
