Shelby D. Mortensen, 50, died Monday noon following an illness of 1 ½ years.  
He had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Inbody at 408 Hill.

Born in Milltown, Wis., April 15, 1920, he was the son of Reynold and Ella 
Wheeler Mortensen.  He was a graduate of Eastern high school in Lansing and 
formerly employed at Lindell Drop Forge plant and also Reo Motor company, both 
in Lansing.

He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reynold Mortensen of 800 Chapman; 
brother, Robert Mortensen of Ionia; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Martin of Ionia, 
Mrs. May Huels of Lansing.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home.  
Interment will be at Lyons cemetery.
