Morton Lansing, - Eleonore D. Morton, 88, passes away Friday, June. 1, 2018 at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing with her loving family beside her. Funeral Services will be held at the Davidson Chapel of Florin Funeral Service, 249 E. Center St. Coloma, Mi. at 12:00 on Friday June 8. A visitation will start at 11:00 until the time of the service. Bishop Billy Long of the Tabernacle of Benton Harbor will be officiating. Memorials may e made to Hospice at home. Please share photos, messages and memories at www.florin.net Eleonore is survived by a daughter, Linda (Alan) Cunnington of Portland, Mi. and her grandson, Paul Cunnington of Kalamazoo, MI. Eleonore was born in Berlin, Germany on March 8, 1030 to Kurt Dahms and Lydia (Schroeder) Dahms. She moved to America in 1956, moving from Kentucky, to West Virginia, and settling in Michigan. Eleonore married Russell Morton in 1967 and remained a loving wife until his death in 2001. While in Germany, she lived on a farm and enjoyed her horses and other livestock. Eleonore escaped to West Germany from what is now called East Germany shortly before the country was split. After completing Secretarial school she was employed in the manufacturing industry until she retired. For her remaining life she maintained her love of animals, enjoyed television, savored pastries, and spent time with loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years and her parents.
