Portland Review - Monday, Feb. 23, 1998

Portland- James L. Moses, 71, of Portland died February 13, 1998. He was born Oct. 
17, 1926, in South Haven, the son of James and Kathryn (Sage) Moses.

He was a 1945 graduate of Hastings High School and a member of the Merchant Marines.

He retired from T.R.W. as a Quality Assurance Supervisor, was a member of St. 
Patrick's Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; two daughters, Kathryn (Steve) Hurl of 
Portland and Margaret (Anthony) Droste; one son, James R. (Mirla) of Lyons; eight 
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his step-mother, Beatrice Moses of 
Lansing.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's 
Catholic Church, 140 Church St., Portland, with the Rev. Father Troy A. Nevins 
officiating. The Rite of Committal will be held in Portland Cemetery, Portland. The

family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Neller Chapel, 210 Bridge 
St., Portland, Sunday and Monday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The

Rosary will be recited Sunday and Monday at 3 p.m. and at 8 p.m. Those desiring may 

make contributions to the Father Flohe Foundation in memory of Mr. Moses.
