The Portland Observer, Wednesday, November 8, 1882
Fatal Accident—Last Friday the oxen of Samuel Moss, of Orange, ran away and 
upset the wagon they were hitched to, the wheel running over Mr. Moss cutting 
his ear off and bruising his head.  The ear was stuck back on when erysipelas 
set in, which caused his death last Monday.
