Y., May 10, 1845. During the Civil war he was a private in Co. C, and served to the end of the war. He came to Michigan in October, 1866, and August 29, 1867, he was united in marriage to Miss Mary Mills, and to them two sons were born, George F. Moss of North Plains, and Charles Moss, who died December 31, 1916. The deceased was a good neighbor, a kind father and affectionate husband. Through all his years of suffering he waited patiently for the end, which came about 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon, July 7. Besides his widow, and one son he is survived by four brothers and six grand children. The funeral took place Wednesday afternoon at the Church of Christ, and was largely attended. Rev. J. A. Cargill conducted the services and interment was made in the North Plains burying ground.
