Portland Observer – Thursday 7 March 1935
Loren S. Mote, 57, well known Ionia county farmer and Campbell township 
supervisor, died suddenly at his farm home at midnight Saturday following a 
heart attack with which he was stricken Friday.  He had been a resident of 
Campbell Township practically all his life.  Funeral services were held 
Tuesday and were attended by the board of supervisors in a body, supervisor 
John Avery of Portland being one of the group.
