Mote, 86, retired Lake Odessa farmer, was killed in an automobile accident Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of….(portion illegible)…and Yankee Springs Road south of Middleville. He was born August 10, 1867, in Ohio and came to Lake Odessa as a small child when he settled on a farm on Veddan road, southwest of Lake Odessa. He later lived at Beaverton and returned to Lake Odessa six years ago where he retired. He was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Beaverton. Mr. Mote is survived by his wife, Mary; a daughter, Mrs. Mary McKimmy of Beaverton; two sons, Dr. Clarence Mote of Royal Oak and Kenneth of El Segundo, California. He reposes at Pickens funeral chapel where services will be held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 with the Rev. Glenn Fruth of the Woodland Church of the Brethren officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside cemetery.
