December 12, 1957 FLORA MOTE DIED FRIDAY Mrs.Flora Mote, 87, passed away Friday at the Sparrow Hospital, Lansing after a short illness following a stroke. She came with her parents Rudolph and Caroline Tischer Gattner from Ohio when 12 years of age residing west of town on a farm. After her marriage to Ulysses Mote, they resided in Mason and Greenville. Mrs Mote had spent most of her time at the home of Mrs Blanche Faulkner since 1937 and had been at Lansing for the past four months. Although not a member, she attended the Congregational and Evangelical United Brethren Churches and was a member of the E.U.B. Aid Society and attended meetings of the Allie Lepard Group. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Virda Faulkner of Grand Rapids; two sons C.A. Mote of Fenton and Leland of Grand Island, New York; two sisters, Mrs Anna Haight and Miss Verda Gattner of Lansing; 9 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 at the West Berlin Wesleyan Methodist Church with burial in the Lakeside Cemetery. Rev. Raymond Carpenter, pastor of the church and Rev. A.J. Pitman officiated.
