Wave, Thurs. Oct. 21, 1976 Services held for Clayton Mote Clayton D. Mote, 78, of 13722 Nash Rd., Route one, Lake Odessa, passed away Tuesday morning at the Osteopathic Hospital, Grand Rapids. He had been hospitalized since October 14, but had been a patient at the Provincial House at Hastings about a year. He was born May 18, 1898 in Campbell Township, the son of Loren and Myrtie (Herron) Mote, attended the Clarksville School and was a lifelong resident and farmer of the area. Mr. Mote married Harriet A. Scott, June 21, 1929 and she passed away January 13, 1964. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Brethren Church on M-50. Surviving are a son, Loren J. Mote, Nash Road, Lake Odessa; three daughters, Miss Bethel Mote and Mrs. Doris Sawdy of rural Lake Odessa and Mrs. Kenneth (Marian) Willette of Clarksville; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Mote reposes at the Pickens - Koops Funeral Chapel, at Clarksville until Wednesday forenoon. Funeral services were held at the Pleasant Valley Church at 1:30 Wednesday. Rev. Lee Palmer officiated with burial in Clarksville Cemetery. Additional Comments: Service: Wed.
