Mote, 76, of Royal Oak, former Lake Odessa school teacher, died early Sunday at his home following a short illness. Dr. Mote taught in Lake Odessa school system before attending and graduating from the Ann Arbor school of Dentistry in 1915. Following his graduation he practiced dentistry in Gladwin until 1926 when he moved to Royal Oak. There he continued his practice until his illness about four weeks ago. Born in Ionia county October 19, 1888, he was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Mote, and was a member of American Dental association. He was married to Olive Gibbons, also a former Lake Odessa school teacher, and several years after her death he married her sister, Jane Winifred Gibbons. She died two years ago. Dr. Mote is survived by two sons, David C. Mote of Royal Oak and Malcolm K. of Drayton Plains; one daughter, Mrs. Howard Law of Royal Oak; seven grandchildren; one brother, William Mote of Santa Monica, California; and a sister, Mrs. J. Ray McKimmy of Beaverton. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Kinsey funeral home in Royal Oak and the body will be brought to Pickens funeral chapel late Tuesday where service will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. the Rev. George Hildner of Lutheran church of Royal Oak will officiate and interment will be at Lakeside cemetery.
