Ionia County News, 20 May 1943

Isaac Mote, 66, died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Geiser west of Lake Odessa,
Monday noon after several year sof ill health.

He was born June 9, 1876, near Bradford, Darke Co., Ohio.  When three years old he
came to Michigan with his parents, Sarah and Jonathan Mote.  On September 21, 1902
he was married to Miss Nora Geiser of Campbell township who preceded him in death in
November of 1942.  The lived in Battle Creek for three years, going to Grand Rapids
where he was employed in postoffice until his retirement in 1925 moving to his farm
in Campbell township, moving to Lake Odessa where they purchased the Arch Lane home
formerly owned by the Mote family where he resided until going to the home of his
sister, where he passed away.  He was a member of the F&AM, Eastern Star and Church
of Brethern at Woodland.  He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Nina Geiser.  Services
were held at the Calvary U.B. church, Thursday p.m. with burial in Lakeside
cemetery.
