She was born April 13, 1902 in Edmore, the daughter of Alfred and Albina Palmater Kent. Alvretta was a member of the Belding Bible Church and was head housekeeper at Belding Christian Nursing Home, now Metron of Belding. She retired in 1980 and later served several years with the Commission on Aging in Ionia County. She was married on December 20, 1919, in Stanton, to William Moyer. He preceded her in death in 1973. She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Flossie Maxfield, Jennie Hey; four brothers, Alfred, Arthur, John, William; one grandson, Thomas Goeree. She is survived by her daughter, Wilma Hodge of Belding; her granddaughter, Patricia Goeree; her great-grandchildren, Windy, Nicole, Richard, Corrine; her great-great grandchildren, Ashley and Danniel. In keeping with Alvretta’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. A celebration of her life is from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Interment is in River Ridge Cemetery, Belding. Memorial contributions may be given to the Belding Bible Church.
