MUELLER DEAD. Venerable and Respected "Father" of Ionia's German Settlement, Passes Into the Great Beyond. Frederick Mueller, one of Ionia's oldest German settlers, died at 5;30 o'clock on Monday afternoon after three weeks' illness with peritonitis. He was 75 years old. Mrs. Mueller died some ten years ago. Mr. Mueller came to this country in 1882 from Pommer, Germany, bringing his wife and four children with him. His two daughters are still living in this city - Mrs. Carl Bielow and Mrs. Will Speckin. There are twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A son, Frank Mueller died three months ago. A sister, Mrs. Fred Rubach, and brother, Henry Mueller, both of this city are also living. Of a uniformly happy temperament, he made friends easily, who always remained staunch and in his passing there is left a void in the social life of a wide circle which will not easily be filled. The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon - at 1;30 o'clock at the home, 509 North Jefferson street, and at 2:00 o'clock at the Lutheran church, Rev. B.H. Succop will officiate. Burial in Highland Park. Mr. and Mrs. John Martin of Lansing and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Speckin of Grand Rapids are expected to be here for the funeral.
