He was hospitalized four days and had been in ill health several years. He was born February 24, 1874 in Odessa township, the son of William and Ameretta Robert Muir, and was married to Bertha DeMaranville of Lake Odessa October 19, 1899. Mr. Muir had spent all his life in the Lake Odessa area with the exception of 14 years in Florida. He returned from Florida in 1946. He was past commander of Frederick Funston Camp 22 of St. Cloud, Fla., and a member of Captain Frank D. Curtis Camp 35 of Ionia. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Lavinia) Wood of Nashville, a son, Carlisle of Beaverton, and a half-sister, Mrs. Minnie Babcock of Lansing. The body is at the Pickens funeral chapel in Lake Odessa where service will be held at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. Dr. William Helrigel, pastor of Hastings Methodist church, will officiate and burial will be at Lakeside cemetery.
