Douglas P. Mulholland of Rockville, MD.-died July 20, 2018-age 89
Former Assistant Secretary of State for Intelligence and Research
Served under Secretary of State James Baker III from 1989 to 1993
Appointed by President George H. W. Bush
Began government service with Central Intelligence Agency in 1956
Served 31 years with the CIA
Born in Arlington, S. Dakota, son of Charles & Valera Mulholland
Grew up in Charlotte-Spent summers on family farm in Ionia, MI.
B.A. & M. A. degrees in Economics from  Michigan State University 
Married Marion Ledgard of Lancaster, PA.
Survived by four children, seven grandchildren, & one great-grandson.
