The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Monday, March 22, 1943

Mrs. Elsie M. Mulnix, 61, of 318 ˝ West Main street, died Sunday morning at 4 
o’clock at her home after a serious illness for the past six months.  She had 
been in poor health for the past 15 years.

She had lived in Ionia for the past six years and in Lyons for 12 years.  In 
1900, she was married to Lewis Hartman of Montcalm county and he preceded her 
in death.  In 1917, she was married to Andrew A. Mulnix, who died November 15, 
1929.

She is survived by seven sons by her first marriage, Lem Hartman, George 
Hartman, Milo Hartman, and Larry Hartman of Ionia, Louis Hartman of Flint, 
Zeeland Hartman and John Hartman of Detroit; also four children by her second 
marriage, Leonard Mulnix of Ionia, Clarence Mulnix, Greenville, Evedene Mulnix 
and Ella Mulnix of Ionia; 16 grandchildren; one brother, Fred C. Hatfield of 
Ionia.

Funeral services will be held at the Boynton funeral home on Tuesday afternoon 
at 4 o’clock.  Rev. F. G. Dunbar, pastor of the first Methodist church, will 
officiate and burial will be in Highland Park cemetery.
