Oct. 6, 2009 Betty Joyce Mulnix, age 83 of Saranac, passed away surrounded by all those who loved her dearly. She passed peacefully into the arms of her heavenly father on Oct. 2, 2009 at Green Acres in Ionia. She was born July 31, 1926 in Lyons, to Riley E. and Lillian (Smith) Keefer Ferris. She was married to the love of her life, Floyd Mulnix in Lyons, on Jan 31, 1947 for 59 wonderful years. She was a den mother, member of Saranac Garden Club, and Ladies Bible study for many years. She loved traveling, crocheting and being with her family and grandchildren. She was loved by all those who knew her. She is survived by daughter Rosemary Perrone of Ionia, sons, Dean (Barb) Mulnix of Saranac, and James (Barbara) Mulnix of Ionia. Brother, Basil (Audrey) Keefer of Lansing, sister, Bertha Lee (Frank) Tuck of Wheeler, brother, Doug (Virginia) Ferris and sister-in-law, Ardist Ferris of Lyons. Grandchildren, Rob (Dianna) Perrone, their children Samantha and Austin of Muir, Riley (Shawn) Perrone, their three children Adriana and Tristen of Saranac; Ryan (Dr. Stacey Hall) Perrone of Chicago, Heather (Mike) Ransom, their children Dusten, Miah, and Danica of Lowell; Brandon (Emily) Mulnix and Lily of Saranac; Stella (Jeremy) Goward, their children Jeremy, April and Jordan of Ovid; Jeremiah Mulnix, Kathy (Kevin) Litchfield, their children McKayla, McKenzie and Login of Mulliken; and Krystal Free who adopted Betty as her grandma. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, step father Leo /Ferris, brother, Duane Ferris, son-in-law Robert Perrone and infant great- grandchild. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Frank Schmid for a all his years of love and care he gave to our mother and to Green Acres for their special love for “Betty Boop”. It meant so much to the family to know that our mother was in such good hands and you will never be forgotten.
