He was born April 2, 1899 in Sidney and married February 7, 1920. He and his wife Goldie had celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary. For 28 years he was employed at Fisher Body in Flint, retiring 12 years ago. He lived two years in Muir before moving to Saranac. His summers were spent in Saranac and winters in Florida. He was a member of Flint Park Methodist church and attended the Evangelical United Brethren church in Ionia. Surviving beside his wife Goldie are two sons, Lyle, of Durand and Kenneth of Saranac; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Potter, of Crystal; eight grandchildren; one brother Elmer, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sisters, Mrs. Della Wheeler of Racine, Wis., Mrs. Jennie Hansen of Sheridan and Mrs. Olive Rice of Portland. Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Morris-Roetman funeral home in Saranac with Rev. Lloyd Walker of Ionia EUB church and Rev. Ray Fassett of Benton Harbor, former pastor of Ionia EUB church, officiating. Interment in Easton cemetery.
