He was born February 18, 1926 in Muir, MI the son of LeRoy and Marie (Steele) Mulnix. He entered the U.S. Army in 1945 serving in the Infantry in Japan during World War II. He married Betty Keefer January 31, 1947 in Lyons, MI. He worked for General Motors Fisher Body #1 in Grand Rapids for 37 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Saranac Lions Club and the American Legion. He is survived by his loving wife of over 59 years Betty of Saranac. Children: Rosemary Perrone of Ionia, Dean (Barb) Mulnix of Saranac, and James (Barbara) Mulnix of Ionia. Sisters; Theola (Harold) Werner of Portland, Carole (Carl) Fox of Pewamo, Esther Irrer of Ionia, and Brothers: Larry Mulnix and Dale Mulnix of Lyons and Jerry (Mona) Mulnix of Ionia. Grandchildren: Rob (Dianna) Perrone of Muir, Riley (Shawn) Perrone of Saranac, Ryan Perrone of Chicago, Heather (Mike) Ransom of Lowell, Brandon (Emily) Mulnix of Saranac, Stella (Jeremy) Goward of Ovid, Jeremiah Mulnix and Kathy Mulnix of Ionia, and Krystal Free of Saranac. Great Grandchildren: Adriana and Tristen Perrone of Saranac, Samantha Perrone of Muir, Miah and Danica Ransom of Lowell, McKayla and McKenzie Mulnix of Ionia and Jordan Goward of Ovid. Step Grandchildren: Dustin Ransom of Lowell, and Jeremy and April Goward of Ovid. His parents, his brother Donald Mulnix, brother-in-law Clarence Irrer, son-in-law Robert Perrone and a great granddaughter preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 22, 2006 at 1:00 PM at the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with Pastor James Frank officiating. Interment will be at the Saranac Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Wednesday 11:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Saranac Fire Department and FSMA (Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy) to benefit his great granddaughter Jordan Goward.
