Munger, 87, of 928 N. Strong Road died Thursday in Butterworth Hospital. He was born in Ionia on May 16, 1892, the son of Merrit and Florence (Smith) Munger. He served in the armed forces in World War I. He lived most of his life in Saranac and Ionia. He was a member of Easton United Methodist Church and the Saranac American Legion Post. He married Jane Tefft in Ionia on Feb. 27, 1928. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Glenn of Fenwick, Robert Jr. of Ionia and Roy of Ionia; three daughters, Mrs. Otto (Marrion) Brimmer of Muir, Mrs. Carl (Violet) Mier of Ionia and Mrs. Fred (Linda) Nielsen of St. Johns; one sister, Martha Rowley of Ionia; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday in the Lake Funeral Home in Saranac with the Rev. Nolan Williams officiating. Burial will be in Easton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
