Roy Flander Munger, 78, of Ionia passed away May 8, 2011 in Grand Rapids. He 
was born May 21, 1932 in Grand Rapids the son of Robert and Annie (Tefft) 
Munger. He attended Ionia Schools and served in the Airforce during the Korean 
War. Roy married Constance Dymond May 7, 1960 in Freeland. He worked at Peske 
Meat Processing and Gibson in Greenville. He worked as a heavy equipment 
operator most of his life. Roy attended Shiloh Community Church and was a 
member of Ionia Farm Power Club, West Michigan Blue Grass Association and 
Saranac VFW. He loved tractors, Blue Grass music and his grandchildren.

Roy is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Connie, of Ionia; daughters, 
Naomi Root of Ionia, Rhonda (Steve) Meyers of Wyoming, Mich., sister, Linda 
(Fred) Nielsen of Perrinton; half-sister, Marian Brimmer of Muir; and eight 
grandchildren, Robert Root, Dana Root, Amanda Meyers, Stephanie Meyers, Adam 
Meyers, Justin Meyers, Jeremy Meyers and Jared Meyers. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Robert Root; sister, 
Violet Mier; brother, Robert; and half-brother, Glen.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at Shiloh Community Church with 
Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment Easton Cemetery. Visitation will be 
6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lake Funeral Home 
in Ionia.
