(Milam) Munn, 81, of Ionia passed away May 26, 2000, at the Ionia County Memorial Hospital. Munn was born on June 7, 1918, in Robinson, Ill. The daughter of Orion F. and Mary R. (Shook) Milam. She grew up in Illinois and moved to Michigan, graduating from Crystal High School in 1936. Phyllis worked for many years in Lansing as a general’s secretary for the Michigan Nation Guard and at Speeding in Fla. She did volunteer work at Ionia County Memorial Hospital and for the Ionia County Commission on Aging. She was married to L. C. Durbin for 49 years and he preceded her in death. She was married to Marion Munn on Jan. 4, 1997 in Ionia and he survives. Phyllis loved to bowl, play euchre and watch all types of sports. Munn is survived by her husband, Marion; two daughters, Donnie (Don) Hiner of Florida and Carolyn (Leo) Thomas of Ionia; six grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; five step-children, Victor (Sandy) Munn of Florida, Richard (Diana) Munn of Colorado, Susan (Dave) Johnson of Swartz Creek, Marilyn Knol of Grand Rapids and Janice (Tom) Gustafson of Ionia; and eight step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Durbin and one brother. Funeral services for Phyllis E. Munn will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Ionia with Rev. James Bennett officiating. Interment will be in Easton Cemetery. Visiting hours will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday at the Cook Funeral Home, Rich Street Chapel, Ionia.
