James V. Murawa, 70, of Ludington, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007 at 
Memorial Medical Center of W. Michigan.

James Vincent was born Oct. 17, 1936 in Adrian, Michigan, the son of Vincent 
and Barbara (Toth) Murawa. He graduated from St. Peter and Paul Academy in 
1955. He was married on June 30, 1956 to Dixie Horrocks, and she survives. Jim 
worked as power plant operator for the State of Michigan, Department of 
Corrections in Ionia for 24 years. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, 
motorcycles and photography. He also enjoyed auto racing and NASCAR. His 
friends will remember him as having a good sense of humor. He was a member of 
the Beach Bikers Club. Jim served three years in the Michigan National Guard.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Dixie; his daughter, Julie (Mike 
Byrnes) Glover of Whitehall; two grandchildren, Jim Murawa of Ionia and Hannah 
Glover of Whitehall; his brothers, Lawrence (Karen) Murawa of Ionia and Thomas 
(Mary) Murawa of Oscoda; his sister, Phyllis (Fred) Klaus of Toledo, Ohio; and 
nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 
one son, James, Jr. in 1986.

Cremation has taken place at Western Michigan Crematory in Muskegon. Graveside 
services for James V. Murawa will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, 
2007 at Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Mich. Those wishing to make an expression of 
sympathy are asked to consider Hospice of Michigan or the Lyons Library. 
Dorrell Funeral Home of Ludington is assisting the family.
